Lessons of Lassoes and Life
Alex Martinez was raised on a farm in Mexico where he learned the sport of lasso – La Riata. Today, he uses the lasso practice to teach his American born kids perseverance, focus and strong family values.
Not able to afford a horse and cattle, Martinez finds creative ways to convey his lessons in their Detroit backyard. “I had an idea to stick horns to a tree and I started doing it” he says.
