Sweet repeat
Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm, the first woman to be elected governor in the state of Michigan in 2002, would prove to have a difficult task to hold on to her seat in 2006. Due to a lack-luster economy and the loss of thousands of manufacturing jobs, campaigning required tireless hours of stumping, busing, shaking hands, and reaching out to the citizens of Michigan. Her efforts paid off for a sweet repeat beating her republican opponent with 56% of the vote.
